About Jeans Pajama Party: Having experienced breast cancer first hand and osing so many close friends to this disease, I have a vested interest in bringing awareness to this epidemic and supporting the efforts to find a cure.

In 2002, Lizbeth Hamlin and I started a charitable event with a fundraising walk and private luncheon. We invited many of the wonderful women we know in the Sonoma and Napa to attend. To our great delight “The Girlfriend Group – Women in the Business of Wine” was born.

In 2007, the Girlfriend Group decided to develop a more public event for women in our community and we created and hosted our first Jean’s Pajama Party! In 2008 we received non-profit status and formed our foundation and board.

By 2014 we were able to celebrate our seventh PJ party and announce that the Girlfriend Group of full-time working women have raised and donated over $135,000 to support women’s health in our community. With a $50,000 donation, the Foundation also started the beginnings of “Project Pink” at Sonoma Valley Hospital. This program funds digital mammography for women

that are underinsured or simply not able to afford this important screening. This screening is one of the significant first steps in catching early stage and therefore more treatable breast cancer.

Our tag lines for our events are “Saving Second Base” and “Thrive, Strive, and Survive!”

Our next Jean’s Pajama Party is planned for May 2016!
